Website marketing is still in its infancy.....

With a bit of perspective it is plain to see that website marketing is still in its infancy. There is plenty of room for marketers that have the courage to avoid the obvious and seek new ground. Don't promote what everyone else is promoting. Avoid niches that are over-crowded. Seek out niches with little to no competition. Because this is where you want to be. And I will try to help you get there. No magic formulas. Just solid, tested and proven website marketing advice that you can apply to your wants and needs.

Developing a profitable web presence is a science as well as an art. If you surf the web looking for information on website marketing you will encounter a lot of bad information. Self-proclaimed website marketing experts talk about making thousands of dollars in just days or even hours. There is a focus on "traffic" to your web site. You should not pay attention to this. And here is why.

A website marketing reality check

Let's be sensible here. Why would anyone share an idea with you - a stranger - that is guaranteed to make you thousands of dollars in return for a few hours of work? They will of course gladly accept your money when you buy the "website marketing product". But chances that you will make money following a "get-rich-quick" scheme are slim at best.

And who needs "traffic" to a web site? Website marketing is about attracting customers in a buying mood. Right? Getting traffic is cheap and "easy" but yields little in return. Attracting customers takes a bit of planning and work but there is money to be made. This should be the focus of all website marketing.

I do not have all the answers. What I do have is a website marketing approach that works for me. And that can work for you. I operate more than 20 web sites. And they are all making me money. Why am I sharing this website marketing "wisdom"?

There are a couple of reasons. One is that in some small ways this site is also making me money. People read my reviews and when they buy the products I make a commission. Not on all products. Some products and services have no affiliate programs. But if I feel they have been important to my "success" - they are included.

A more important reason is that I enjoy writing about website marketing. It is my passion and hobby. My other sites, those I consider work.

I should also mention that at times I receive requests to write reviews for a newly released website marketing product. If I accept, these reviews will clearly state that I have only read and briefly tested the materials and techniques.
